Do whatever it takes for you to internalize compassion for your peers with different issues. Being gawked at, fetishized, tokenized, and forced into the spotlight is not a privilege. Being ignored, silenced, neglected, and dismissed is not a privilege. Being forced to be an ambassador for your identity is not a privilege. Being told that you don’t even count as a member of your identity is not a privilege.
